CTAG Virtual Workshop: Dark Web Explorer

Socitm CTAG

Investigating supply chain attacks on the dark web safely.

Background:This CTAG this workshop builds on previous workshops and it will provide a technical guide for investigating supply-chain ransomware attacks by using freely available claims by ransomware groups. It will take attendees over the steps necessary to investigate specific supply chain incidents impacting their organisations. It will cover essential security protocols, operating systems in favor of privacy-focused Linux distributions, using VPNs, consider dedicated hardware and how to maintain anonymity while navigating digital "crime scenes." It will emphasise the importance of legal compliance and the use of specialised tools to safely identify and if need be recover example stolen data without falling victim to malware or tracking. While this workshop is open to WARP members, participants should have reasonable technical skills and be familiar with tools like Rufus to make bootable CDs or USB thumb drives.  A broad understanding of the handling of, and working with digital evidence would also be useful, but not necessary.
