Health and Climate Change Conference 2026

Health and Climate Change Conference 2026

Overview

Join global experts to explore the health impacts of climate change and launch the 10th Lancet Countdown report.

About the event

To mark the publication of the 10th Lancet Countdown report, and as part of UCL's bicentenary year, the Lancet Countdown and UCL Grand Challenges (Climate Crisis) are convening a half-day conference bringing together researchers, policymakers, healthcare professionals, civil society organisations and practitioners working at the intersection of climate change and health.

The conference will showcase the latest findings from the 2026 Report of the Lancet Countdown and convene a global conversation on the health impacts of climate change and the actions needed to protect health. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions and audience engagement, the event will explore how robust evidence can support effective climate and health action across sectors and regions.

The conference will also feature a poster exhibition showcasing research from UCL academics and students working on climate change and health. The exhibition will highlight a range of interdisciplinary research and provide opportunities for attendees to engage with researchers addressing some of the most pressing climate change and health challenges. This is only open to UCL students and academics. For more details on how to take part, see our open call.

The event will conclude with a networking reception, providing an opportunity for attendees to connect with colleagues and collaborators from across the climate and health community.

The event will take place in The Pigott Theatre at The British Library, 96 Euston Rd, NW1 2DB.

The event will be recorded. For those unable to attend in person, the launch of the 10th Indicator Report of the Lancet Countdown will be livestreamed and live captioning and translation will be available. The remainder of the conference, including presentations from UCL academics, will not be live streamed but will be available as recordings after the event.

A detailed agenda, including speakers and session information, will be shared closer to the event.
