Age of AI: What is next in the field of AI?
Our panel will reflect on advances in machine learning and next-generation AI, as well as the limits we may want to put on this technology.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping every aspect of society, from education and the creative arts to security, public policy, and even human relationships.
Royal Holloway’s Age of AI series of events bring together leading researchers in a range of disciplines across the University to discuss and explore the opportunities, risks and challenges created by AI.
Each event will focus on a different theme – AI and the future of humans, AI and the needs of education, and what is next in the field of AI.
Through these events, our researchers will be reflecting on where we are now, where we are going, and how we can keep human and societal benefit at the centre of our response to such rapid technological change.
What is next in the field of AI?
With change happening at such pace, can we anticipate where AI innovation is heading next, and what might it mean for people, communities, and society?
In this panel, experts across disciplines, from computer science to psychology and media arts will reflect on advances in machine learning and next-generation AI applications, as well as the guard-rails and limits we may want to put on this technology.
This event's panel includes:
- Professor Polly Dalton - Department of Psychology
