Learn about what it takes to put on your own illustration market stall
Join Sheffield Illustrators meet-up to hear Edgar (Egg) Lowman talk about his own journey balancing doing markets and life.
Come and learn about what it takes to put on your own market stall.
On 20th October we have our next illustrators meet-up. This month we’re very fortunate to have Edgar (Egg) Lowman talk about his own journey balancing doing markets and life. This is a very valuable insight, especially for those of us who are thinking about applying for a stall at our Sheffield Illustrators Christmas Market (Saturday 19th December).
In his own words, Egg says:
“I am a freelance teacher and artist from Sheffield, and I've been taking commissions as an artist for 8 years. In the last year or so, I've begun to trade at markets, slowly building up my stall, my offerings, and balancing the resources that go into that against my other jobs.
I'm going to talk around that recent journey and the lessons I've learnt, as well as ideas around motivation, money, carbon consciousness and social media. I'll share examples of artists who do well both as content-rich online presences, and analog/offline creatives, and people to turn to for information and guidance along that spectrum.”
In addition to Egg’s talk, we will be discussing more about our Christmas Market, how to apply, and deadlines.
Whether you've sold at dozens of markets or never sold a single print, you're welcome to join us to find out more.
