About this Event

Join artist Junko O'Neill for a relaxing, hands-on introduction to Sumi-e, or Suibokuga—the traditional Japanese art of ink wash painting.

In this three-hour workshop, you'll explore the theme of Maple learning how to express the essence of the subject through minimal, elegant brushwork, thoughtful composition, and the use of negative space. You'll work with traditional materials—black ink, handmade brushes, ink stone, and sumi stick—and be guided through each step in a calm and focused environment.

This session is ideal for beginners, with no previous experience required.
