We are delighted to be working at a new private site which is part of an exciting project where we are working with multiple landowners to connect up Duke of Burgundy Butterfly Colonies accross the Dagnall Area.
Transport & Address:
The post code will get you close. Better to put in W3W///earmarked.dated.piglets . This will take you to the entrance to Hall Farm on the LHS as you go out of Dagnall a little way past the school.
Please can we ask everyone to arrive on time to ensure you do not miss the health & safety and task briefing. If you are late and the session has already started, you may not be able to join. Thank you.
You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket!
We love to involve children and young people in our sessions but we do not provide 'child care', so we need different levels of parental support according to the age and needs of the young person, so If you are booking a ticket for anyone under 18, please read and follow our Under 18 Policy here.
The Task:
Today we will be planting scrub shelter & cowslips, protecting them with deer netting to enhance the habitat at Hall Farm and make it an attractive stepping stone for the Duke to spread
Timings (please note these timings are approximate):
10.30: Arrival for safety briefing, please don't be late!
12:15 Lunch, Tea & coffee break
12:45 Continue planting
15:00 Aim to finish, time to go home! Thank you!
What to bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain.
Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Please note:
Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.
Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
