Join us at Dreamstory in SE London to support Sasha’s debut supperclub: MuchMuchMunch - an extension of amalgam8 arts collective.
MuchMuchMunch is a personal venture of Sasha's, working in collaboration with amalgam8 to create a series show-casing enthusiastic home cooks local to South East London.
Sasha is a self-taught chef born and bred in London having resided in Hither Green all her life with roots from Jamaica. An indulgence of uninterrupted time in the kitchen has led Sasha to be infatuated with experimentation, an aversion to eating the same thing twice and to build a conscientious palate valuing surplus items and the finer sensual play of food. Sasha brings her cerebral and creative approach to your plates, inviting you to step into food-fuelled conversions and connections formed through food.
Sasha is involved within the immediate team of amalgam8 - an arts and political collective that slowly brings people together whether amateur or professional through our shared drive for community-building, self-expression and skill-sharing. Those involved within the immediate team of amalgam8 endeavour on curating tailored events - we support each others visions come to life through our shared set of skills and our concern & care for the people we walk this world with (from strangers we cross eyes with in the street to those we spend most of our time with).
For this night we’ve had food development suggestions from Paige Pepperell an intellectual food freak & lover and Kia Gabbidon a multi-faceted artist, mother and kind-hearted human. As well as a complimentary wine menu from Swan.
Paige originally from New Zealand, has been residing in SE London for 6 years. Her commitment to veganism has retaught her relationship to food over the years, feeling more deeply connected to what she consumes - recreating cuisines from all around the world and exploring herbs and spices she’d never heard of before. Paige’s intuitive palate to flavour pairings has developed a selection of the dishes for this night.
Kia originally from SE London with roots from Barbados and Jamaica has had a love for food and cooking since she was a young kid - with memories of being greeted at the door by her Grandparents on Sunday afternoons and the aromas escaping the kitchen to warmly embrace her arrival. Kia’s commitment to veganism has engrained an understanding of how to nourish one’s health and wellbeing. Kia’s ability to develop banging plant-based meals has been collaborated into the modern British dish/es for this night.
Swan originally from Myanmar has lived in London for 5 years. Swan wants to make natural/fine wines more accessible. Their love for wine extends from simply enjoying it on its own to accompanying a meal - to bring out the best flavours in the dish.
Althea originally from Shadwell, grew up in Southend-on-Sea and has moved back, now residing in Lewisham. Althea is the director of amalgam8 and they have no doubt that amalgam8 will slowly but surely bring cross-cultural relationships together to support each other in our creative and community visions.
During this late November meal in the might of darkness, know that Sasha has been preparing the menu in the heart of her home with Kia by her side and the evening has come together through friends sharing their time, efforts and a variety of self-taught skills purely for the hopes that this night will bring more people to the table for our future creative, political and community work.
Sasha's debut menu is a contemporary Euro-Mediterranean blend with modern British dishes infused with Middle Eastern flavours - an amalgamation of a very unique team giving this thing called a supperclub a go!
