What day is it? RISO calendars for 2027

Design, print and finish your own 2027 RISO calendar in a hands-on workshop with printmaker North or Nowt.

If you're like me, you might struggle to remember what day it is, sometimes what month it is, or perhaps even what year it is.

Hi, I'm North or Nowt. You might remember me from ESA RISO Room classes such as 'Cut. Paste. Destroy. Create.' and 'Have a f#!?ing Xmas'. Today we bring you a revolutionary idea in RISO form, the calendar. An artefact which allows you to track the passage of time from day to day during the Earth's rotation of the celestial body the sun, over a period of time now commonly referred to as a year.

During this workshop, you will learn about RISO print and how to design and print using the process. You will design a 1-2 colour artwork around a pre-made date template for each of the 12 months of 2027, each month at approximately A6. You will design, print and finish a small edition of copies.

You can work with any analogue media you like. Collage, mark making and illustration would work really well. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along anything specific you'd like to work with.

This session is perfect for both RISO beginners and pros alike, and could be a perfect gift or experience to give to another.
