Online event
Overview

Sally’s Non-Fiction Book Club celebrates the joy of non-fiction and learning with like-minded people in a relaxed and friendly online space.

Welcome to Sally’s Book Club!

  • Are you a business owner or a professional looking to improve yourself or your organisation?
  • Have you got a big pile of business or self-development books you’ve been meaning to read for ages?
  • Would you like to meet like-minded professionals to discuss business, growth and self-development in 2026?

Sally’s Book Club was launched in January 2024 by Sally Day, a Content Marketing Consultant based in South Oxfordshire. Sally has been a small business owner since May 2020 and has about 42 business books on her ‘read list’. Sally loves reading and learning more about improving her business and herself as a professional, but struggles to find the time to read these kinds of books!

Sally’s Book Club was created with a desire to learn more in a relaxed and friendly environment. And with a keenness to have accountability for reading Non-Fiction books regularly. Everyone is welcome to join!

March's book:
Big Brand Marketing: High Impact Strategies for Small Businesses
By Rhea Freeman

This month's session will start with a very special Q&A with Rhea (7-7:30pm) before moving on to the usual 60 min discussion about the book!

  • Have you ever seen an advert or campaign from a big brand that stuck in your head for days, and wondered what made it so memorable?
  • Do you sometimes feel your marketing blends in with everyone else’s, and assume that standing out is only possible with a huge budget and a creative agency behind you?
  • Would you like to learn how small businesses can borrow the big ideas behind brands like Cadbury, GoPro and Tony’s Chocolonely, and use them to make a real impact without breaking the bank?

If you've said yes to any of these - then this book is for you.

Bookshop.org says:

'Looking to create a memorable marketing campaign, but lacking the inspiration and the budget?

In an era where internet virality can make or break your business, original marketing is essential to your brand’s success. Yet, it can be hard to gain the traction your brand deserves when you’re a small team, on an even smaller budget. Big Brand Marketing breaks down big budget, original, and controversial marketing campaigns from around the globe, extracts what makes them special and successful, and offers key tips and advice that can work for businesses of any size, on any budget.

In this guide, Rhea Freeman distils a range of memorable and effective mega-budget marketing campaigns and gives you the tools to replicate their success – at a fraction of the cost. From Cadbury and Carlsberg, to Red Bull and Tony’s Chocolonely, Big Brand Marketing features in-depth case studies and interviews with the real-life brains behind the campaigns, and demonstrates how you can utilize the lessons from these masters of storytelling for your own business.

Big brand marketing – but on a budget.'
