The industry is getting back to face-to-face business and Pocket Gamer is returning to live events with PG Connects London coming your way in January.But before then, let&#x27;s raise a glass together on Tuesday, December 7th, at a fun bar in London...

To celebrate the return to live events, and let our collective hair down after another incredible year for the games industry, we’re holding one of our celebrated Pocket Gamer Mixer events in London on December 7th so we can all come together, reconnect, have a drink or two and brush up on your shuffleboard skills!The event will run from 7 pm to 11 pm and offers an ideal opportunity to meet with other games professionals, have a bit of fun and support a great charity in the process - all profit made from ticket sales will go directly to our friends at SpecialEffect.Your ticket will include a couple of drinks, some food, shuffleboard entertainment and general good vibes as we ring in the start of the holiday season together.

In the heart of Shoreditch in Central London, the London Shuffle Club is an excellent way to celebrate the last few days of the year in a relaxed setting with some of the coolest people in the mobile games industry.Located at 4 Ebor Street, London, E1 6AW, the London Shuffle Club is just a stone&#x27;s throw from Shoreditch High Street overground station.It has shuffleboard courts, drinks, gourmet pizzas and some heated outdoor space too.

We know COVID-19 news still looms large, and everyone&#x27;s safety is important to us. We&#x27;re following government guidelines and advising all appropriate cautions. We believe that fun, celebration and safety can co-exist at all our events. The health and safety of our attendees is our top priority, and we’re approaching this holiday event sensibly to ensure everyone feels safe and has a great experience. The venue will be equipped with hand sanitiser and we strongly recommend that you use these frequently. To ensure attendees extra space and good ventilation, we are operating the Mixer at a reduced capacity to allow attendees the space to distance if they wish. The venue has some heated outdoor space, too, so you can get some fresh air.We encourage everyone to take a lateral flow test within 48 hours of attending an event. If your lateral flow comes back positive we ask that you do not attend for the safety of other attendees. If you feel unwell on the day of the get-together and are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please do not come to the venue.

At the core of this mission is its work to optimise inclusion, enjoyment and quality of life by helping people control video games to the best of their abilities for as long as they need them. Their team of occupational therapists and gaming specialists in the UK create bespoke control setups for hundreds of individuals each year, while their R&amp;D team use what they learn in the field to develop freely-available resources and solutions to help level the playing field for gamers with physical challenges all over the world.This mission of inclusion extends beyond gaming, whether that’s by using eye-gaze technology to bring communication, independence and hope for people in intensive care units with a severe injury or illness, or by using telepresent robots to reconnect medically isolated children with their education and friends. Whatever it does, SpecialEffect is committed to making life better for the people that need it, for as long as possible.
