This Grief Awareness Week, join us for an online  event about grief and how we can help our friends and loved ones through it.

Whilst many of us are getting ready to celebrate Christmas with our loved ones, for some this is a painful reminder of someone they have lost.For this year's Grief Awareness Week (2 to 7 December), a group of local patients and health and care staff have come together to raise awareness about the grieving process and share what we can do to support those living with grief.The ‘Growing the Conversation’ group, set up by the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to encourage people to talk about end of life care, recognises the importance of talking openly about death and dying , both for the individual and their family, but also the needs of those left behind grieving a loss. This panel event will hear from a number of local experts with different perspectives and experiences of grief. Hear about what grief means to them, the difference between grieving and bereavement, and what we can do to support people who are grieving. You will also have the chance to ask your own questions.The event is open to everyone, members of the public and those working in our health and care services. Once you register, you'll receive a ticket including the link to join the event via Teams. You can join from any device, whether or not you have a Teams account. If you don't have a Teams account, follow these steps to join as a guest.1. Click on the Teams link2. That'll open a web page, where you'll see two choices: Download the Windows app and Join on the web instead. If you join on the web, you can use either Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. 3. Enter your name and choose your audio and video settings. .4. When you're ready, hit Join now.5. This will bring you into the meeting lobby. The meeting organizer will be notified that you're there, and someone in the event can then admit you.
