Supporting the Dyslexic Learner

Bell House is a volunteer led charity that provides creative learning for people of all ages and backgrounds. Our vision is to offer an opportunity to gather for learning, enjoyment and friendship in a special place.

This course has been designed to help you understand how you can best support a child at home and at school.

Children with dyslexia may learn differently from you. We will cover how to recognise different learning profiles, multisensory learning, age-appropriate reading matter and tools, note taking, mindmapping, making numeracy more visual and how to gather evidence that a child needs help and support.There will be six sessions on Thursday mornings 10.00am to 12.00pm each costing £201. 27th January - What is Dyslexia and Exam Arrangements2. 3rd February - Learning Styles3. 10th February - Reading Skills BREAK FOR HALF TERM 4. 24th February - Study Skills 5. 3rd March - Writing Skills 6. 10th March - Developing and Supporting Numeracy SkillsIf you would like to book all six sessions you can buy five and get one free. The total cost for this offer is £100 and you book by using the dedicated page called &#x27;Special Offer for Six sessions - Supporting the Dyslexic Learner&#x27;.If you prefer to book single sessions you can do this at £20 each and you use this page to book.We would ask you to read the following guidelines for your visit.•	If you or any of your group have any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been diagnosed with the virus, you must not attend the event;•	We have reduced participant numbers to enable social distancing.•	We encourage you to wear a face mask (unless you are exempt) when moving around the house;•	We would ask you to take a lateral flow on the day of the event you are attending;•	We aim to increase ventilation in the rooms, so some outside doors may will be open on arrival; we suggest you wrap up warm as the house is likely to be cooler than usual;•	Hand sanitiser will be positioned at various points in the house;•	We will have a list of people who have booked so you do not need to print off your ticket;•	We will hold your contact details which you provide via Eventbrite and we may pass them onto to NHS Test and Trace if required, in accordance with government advice.•	You will of course receive a warm welcome from our volunteers, and we look forward to seeing you at your event.
