The second Leeds Women's Homelessness and Housing Frontline Network Meeting.

This event is aimed at frontline practitioners based in Leeds who are and keen to influence strategically through sharing solutions from the frontline perspective. This is our second meeting and we're hoping to build on previous discussion as we continue to expand our network. We want every meeting to be as productive and constructive as possible so if you attended the last event please do come along again as we will aim to offer something new with every event. If you didn't attend the last event please consider coming along this time - you will be very welcome and you don't need to have attended previously to participate.For this meeting Fulfilling Lives Islington and Camden are delivering their training 'Complexity with Confidence' for our Network. Fulfilling Lives Islington and Camden (FLIC) and Standing Together have collaborated with experts from across the homelessness, domestic abuse and perpetrator sectors to create "Confidence in Complexity" - guidance and training aimed at front line practitioners who are supporting survivors and/or perpetrators of domestic abuse in homelessness settings.

Information from FLIC about the training:"We know that domestic abuse can look different in homelessness settings, where both survivor and perpetrator are experiencing multiple disadvantages. Traditional guidance around only engaging with survivors when the perpetrator is not present cannot always apply.

The training is designed to increase the confidence of practitioners working in these often complex and sometimes high risk situations, and to acknowledge the emotional impact of this work and invite practitioners to talk about their experiences. "Following the training, practitioners will:


•	Know how to effectively identify someone who is experiencing or perpetrating domestic abuse in homelessness settings

•	Have increased awareness of perpetrator behaviours and increased understanding of the motivations behind perpetrator behaviour

•	Know what to do/say to make sure you are not colluding with perpetrators. 

•	Feel confident to work in partnerships with specialist services and other agencies to hold perpetrators to account and keep survivors safe.
