Join the Tap Dance Programme (TDP) Studio Jam with an improvisation workshop open to musicians as well as dancers.

A dance and music studio jam session based in rhythm. There will be a workshop with improvisation games. Join in to develop and expand your creative voice through music and movement.

All non tap dancers comfortable on their instruments or with their dance style are welcome. This is a session for participants of the creative community as a space to explore improvisation using jazz music and dance.

Tap dance is part of jazz history where the music was influenced by the rhythm with musicians and dancers constantly exchanging creative ideas. The Studio Jam is an opportunity to immersive yourself in this dance-live music connection.

Annette Walker’s Tap Dance Programme

Annette Walker’s tap musicianship has a foundation in the classic jazz and African American rhythm tap repertoire . With a background in music (piano, violin, singing) and a wide experience in dance (tap, Lindy Hop, ballet, modern, contemporary, hip hop, salsa, ballroom and more) she has a unique approach to emboding both dance and music and creates fun and challenging exercises to keep you on your toes.
