Sujata Banerjee Dance Company was founded in 1985 by eminent Kathak practitioner Sujata Banerjee MBE.The Company is committed to promoting South Asian dance and music in the UK and beyond and regularly conducts classes, school workshops, masterclasses with eminent practitioners as well as performances.Artistic Director Sujata Banerjee is one of the most experienced and active dance practitioners in the UK and is also the Chairperson of the South Asian Faculty at the ISTD (the ImperialSociety for the Teachers of Dance). She is at the forefront of developing Kathak syllabuses for formally recognised exams and promoting South Asian culture in the UK.

A unique opportunity for  Kathak dancers to learn from teacher &amp; choreographer Sujata Banerjee, MBE.Improvisation is an important part of any dance training. In Kathak rhythmic interplay is one of the most exciting part of dancing. Although it is called improvisation but there is also a technique to it. In this masterclass session Sujata will share various ways of approaching the improvisation, whether it is Nritta or Nritya.
