Join us for this virtual event that will give startups, entrepreneurs, and support agencies in the North East an update on how to unlock finance that is available from the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans scheme. 
Start Up Loans was established in September 2012 to help new and early-stage businesses in the UK access affordable finance and mentoring support. Since then, the scheme has issued 3,927 loans to businesses in the North East, with a value of £31.2m 
Despite the pandemic the last year has seen a significant increase in the number of people who are looking to start a business and seeking the finance they need to do so, and this event will ensure that people just like you know what options are available with us and how to apply. 
Hear from two expert panels at the event. 
Panel 1: Gillian McLaren and Ben Harvey from Start Up Loans 
They will outline: 
•	what Start Up Loans are 
•	the criteria individuals must meet in order to apply 
•	the application process 
•	the valuable mentoring support the scheme offers 
Panel 2: Hear from Start Up Loan recipients, their experiences of setting up a business and how the finance has positively supported their businesses 
There will also be an opportunity to ask our panellists questions during the event
