Forgotten Wives examines the ways in which marriage has contributed to the ‘disremembering’ of women’s achievements

Ann Oakley examines the conventions of history and biography-writing using case studies of the wives of well-known men – Charlotte Shaw, Mary Booth, Jeannette Tawney and Janet Beveridge.Our Zoom events are recorded and published as videos on Vimeo. During the main event the video will focus on the speaker. During the introduction and Q&amp;A the first page of the &#x27;gallery&#x27; view is visible. If you don&#x27;t wish to appear in the video you should turn off your camera during these periods. Those with their video off are unlikely to appear on page 1.
