How Do We Engage With People Across Difference?

Community Organisers

In many neighbourhoods across England, different faith and ethnic communities live and work next to each other, yet rarely interact.

In many neighbourhoods across England, different faith and ethnic communities live and work next to each other, yet rarely interact with one another.Such separation can lead to misunderstanding and a lack of trust or respect for one another, neither of which is healthy for a local community.Often these are also areas of deprivation, where people share a common concern for a better community, but don’t come together to talk or act as much as they could. Yet it is local people, in local communities, who are ideally placed to identify and develop solutions that can improve their own neighbourhood.Near Neighbours brings people together in communities that are religiously and ethnically diverse, so that they can get to know each other better, build relationships of trust, and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community they live in.FAITHS WORKING TOGETHER TOOLKITNear Neighbours has developed a toolkit to support your work in communities. This toolkit aims to help you to reach out and engage with people of different faiths in your local area. To create a successful project that engages people of different religious backgrounds, as well as to develop and deepen cross-faith understanding and relationships along the way. Facilitated by Kaneez Khan of Near NeighboursDonationsThe normal cost for attending a Community Organisers webinar is £5.
