HSK E-Test Mandarin Proficiency testing - this is for the E-TEST

HSK E-Test testing

The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi HSK test (or Chinese Proficiency Test) is China’s only standardised test of standard Chinese language proficiency or Mandarin language proficiency for non-native speakers. It approximates to the English equivalent which is the TOEFL.


The HSK test is administered by Hanban. Goldsmiths Confucius Institute is currently registered as one of the official HSK Testing Centres in the UK as well as the ONLY testing centre in London to offer e-testing (HSK, HSKK, YCT, BCT).


2026 Exam Dates


HSK levels 2, 4 and 6 examinations will take place in the morning from 9:00-12:00. HSK levels 1, 3 and 5 examinations will take place from 13:30-17:00. The duration of the examination is contingent on what level of the HSK exam you are undertaking.


How to book:


Step 1: Register online at at the Chinese Test website(www.chinesetest.cn) and send confirmation email to confucius-chinesetests (@gold.ac.uk). Please note that failing to register on time will result in missing the exam.


Step 2: You will recieve an email to the relevant eventbrite page for payment.

Step 3: Select your test date and payment (and any postage fee) and complete transaction


Step 4: Registration complete (keep a copy of your eventbrite confirmation as receipt of payment)


Step 5: We will email you a reminder 1 week before your exam date.


Fees

In addition to the exam fees, there is an administration fee of £25.


If you wish your certificate to be posted to you, then there is a postage fee of £5 (UK)


The exam fees are as follows:

Level 1 - £35


Level 2 - £45


Level 3 - £55


Level 4 - £65


Level 5 - £75


Level 6 - £85


The HSK2、HSK4、HSK6 will start at 9:00am.

(HSK 2,4,6 takers please MUST arrive at 8:30am or your listening part time will reduce that our institute are not responsible for that)

Refund


Any changes and refunds (level and exam date) can be processed 1 day before the registration deadline (end of the ticket sales).


Please bear in mind that Eventbrite charges a 6.95% of ticket price + 0.59 pounds as service fee for every ticket sells. Service fee WILL NOT be refunded.


No changes/ refunds can be processed after the registration deadline.
