This is a wonderful introduction to printmaking or kickstart to your artistic practice- no need for a press or print studio.

This online workshop will be via Zoom and will combine demonstrations of several hand printmaking techniques with lots of time to work alongside Ruth and the other attendees making beautiful, original hand prints, as well as a chance to ask questions throughout.Ruth will guide you though simple techniques, step by step, to make prints at home- no previous printmaking or art experience necessary.You will need a few simple pieces of equipment and materials, the materials information gives ideas where to buy and also budget options and alternatives.You will come away from the session with the knowledge and experience to print at home as well as several prints to keep, which can either be used as wall art or as collage into other art work.Hand mono-printing is a playful, spontaneous and enjoyable way to make both abstract art and atmospheric figurative pieces. No drawing experience necessary.The workshop will cover: materials and equipment, organising your workspace, rolling out ink and manipulating it, taking a print, creating textures, adding line and forms, masking out, layering up colours forms and textures, how to dry and store your prints and how to crop them down, mount and frame them.
