Reboot: Introduction to Music Production with Isatta Sheriff

Since founding Clod Ensemble in 1995, director Suzy Willson and composer Paul Clark have developed a highly original performance language, creating provocative, finely-crafted work which is ambitious in scale and concept.Clod Ensemble works at the intersections where different artistic forms meet, transform and challenge each other, collaborating with dancers, actors, musicians, medics, architects and orchestras to create work which is presented in London, across the UK and internationally.Some of the theatres, dance houses, galleries and public spaces Clod Ensemble’s work has been presented in include Sadler’s Wells, Tate Modern, The Lowry Salford, Wales Millennium Centre, Serralves Museum Porto and Public Theater New York.

An online workshop exploring the world of music production

This workshop is exclusively for people who identify as women, trans and non-binary.This introductory workshop will run through some of the basic skills involved in music production using Logic. We’ll cover using plugins, making loops and arranging as well as tips for best practice in keeping things organised. This workshop will be held online via zoom. Isatta Sheriff (She/Her) is an MC, a rapper, producer, songwriter and founder of Doctored Sound, who began in an era where pirate and unlicensed radio stations were the only place you could be heard. With time and growth, she has developed from a firebrand to an eloquent voice of not only the city (London) but also of a generation. With work ranging from features for Flying Lotus, Oddisee, Arrested Development to Athletic Progression, Wretch 32 and Saul Williams, and Moo Latte, Koralle Isatta consistently showcases a blend of lyricism, consciousness and sound production. Radio play (including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Radio 1Xtra) and live performances have all served as a platform much deserved and worked for. Her work with Doctored Sound has seen her working with the BBC Rap Game UK, Sony Music, and the Royal Maritime Museum. This needs to change!Each of these Reboot workshop will focus on a different role, and will be led by an industry professional covering lighting design, sound design, music production, tour management and production co-ordination. These are introductory sessions for people who may not have considered these roles previously or just have an interest in finding out more about them. Petok Productions is a company led by our Production and Technical Associate Pembe Tokluhan, that aims to diversify the production industry and pave the way for under-represented people to build a career in backstage roles.
