Since founding Clod Ensemble in 1995, director Suzy Willson and composer Paul Clark have developed a highly original performance language, creating provocative, finely-crafted work which is ambitious in scale and concept.Clod Ensemble works at the intersections where different artistic forms meet, transform and challenge each other, collaborating with dancers, actors, musicians, medics, architects and orchestras to create work which is presented in London, across the UK and internationally.Some of the theatres, dance houses, galleries and public spaces Clod Ensemble’s work has been presented in include Sadler’s Wells, Tate Modern, The Lowry Salford, Wales Millennium Centre, Serralves Museum Porto and Public Theater New York.

An online introductory workshop into the role of Production Coordinator for live events

This workshop is for people who identify as women, trans and non-binary.The session dives into the life of a Production Coordinator for Live Events, from managing schedules, to organising logistics such as travel and accommodation, and supporting artists. This will be a practical session where you’ll be invited to get stuck in and learn all about the realities of the job. This workshop will take place online.This workshop will take place online via zoom.Joanne Croxford (she/her) is a Production Coordinator + Wellness &amp; Diversity Specialist for Live Touring. Having cut her teeth within all things production at music management company, Joanne has worked in the music industry across wellness and diversity for multiple years. Coming into recovery from addiction herself 11 years ago, she also spent four years in frontline NHS mental health services with the aim to bring her learning back to the business that she knows and loves. Since then she worked at music industry lead charity, Music Support and gives her time to The Roadie Clinic. As Production Coordinator she has recently worked on both the Team GB and ParalympicsGB Homecoming at Wembley Arena.Joanne is a committed volunteer for music charity, Girls Rock London, in an attempt to challenge and change the gender and cultural imbalances within the industry. Joanne is a member of the Tour Production Group, helping to further their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion agenda in live touring. She is also affiliated with Women in CTRL as their LGBTQ+ Ambassador.This event is part of <a href="https://www.clodensemble.com/whatson/reboot-behind-scenes-screen-lens/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Reboot: Behind the scene, screen and lens</a>, a season of artist development programmed in collaboration with <a href="https://petokproductions.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Petok Productions</a>, open to people who identify as women, trans and non-binary.Women, trans and non-binary people are massively under- represented within backstage roles in theatre, film and music. This needs to change!Each of these Reboot workshop will focus on a different role, and will be led by an industry professional covering lighting design, sound design, music production, tour management and production co-ordination. These are introductory sessions for people who may not have considered these roles previously or just have an interest in finding out more about them. Petok Productions is a company led by our Production and Technical Associate Pembe Tokluhan, that aims to diversify the production industry and pave the way for under-represented people to build a career in backstage roles.
