The 57°10 Architecture Society - a name abstracted from our geographic location - is the largest and oldest society at Robert Gordon University. The society caters for an average of 100 members every year and is celebrating its 34th anniversary during the 2022/23 academic year. Open to all audiences, the society is a unique student driven collective from The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture & Built Environment; the most northerly architecture school in Scotland and the third oldest in the UK.

<h2>Matt Loader &amp; Iain Monteith | Loader Monteith Architects</h2><p>Matt Loader and Iain Monteith are co-founders and directors of Loader Monteith Architects. The practice was formed in 2016 after the pair worked together for over a decade. During that time, they realised their passions and aspirations aligned, as did their meticulous attention to detail and aim to combine beauty with narrative. </p><p>Their work has a common purpose: to improve the built environment. Loader Monteith work to enhance place, responding to each location with architecture that’s specific to the setting. There is a firm belief that architecture is transformative and the practice aims to leave behind a legacy of buildings that have improved our planet and enriched lives.</p><p>Loader Monteith's work can be found all across Scotland from the remote parts of the highlands to the central belt. They also have clients all over the world; America, the Middle East and South Africa to name a few.  </p><p>Iain has continued to teach Undergraduate at the Mackintosh School of architecture and Matt is also a visiting critic and lecturer at Glasgow School of Art. </p><p></p><p></p><p></p>

Due to Covid-19 restrictions on event capacity, please reserve your seat through Eventbrite to attend  in person. Post-lecture refreshment capacity is also limited in line with RGU policy - thank you for your cooperation with the team as we manage attendance numbers to keep the lecture series running safely on campus! 
If an event is fully booked, please join the waitlist so we can notify you if a seat becomes available. Lectures will be streamed live wherever possible to allow those who cannot attend in person to access the lecture. <p></p>

To get to the lecture theatre, enter the Sir Ian Wood Building and walk straight ahead until reaching a large atrium and staircase. Go downstairs and the lecture theatre is straight ahead at the base of the large drum. (This is marked as a blue dot in the Sir Ian Wood Building on the campus map below.) Lift access is available near the main reception and the atrium. If you are unsure, please contact us in advance or check with reception who will direct you.
