The 57°10 Architecture Society - a name abstracted from our geographic location - is the largest and oldest society at Robert Gordon University. The society caters for an average of 100 members every year and is celebrating its 34th anniversary during the 2022/23 academic year. Open to all audiences, the society is a unique student driven collective from The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture & Built Environment; the most northerly architecture school in Scotland and the third oldest in the UK.

<h2>Murray Kerr | Denizen Works</h2><p>Denizen Works was founded by Murray Kerr in 2011 to explore projects of diverse scales and typologies. As a denizen is, among other things, a plant naturalised on foreign soil, they aim to make architecture that is rooted in an understanding of place.</p><p>Their projects, though scattered across the UK and beyond, are all joined in an approach which taps into local history, landscape, microclimate and community. They deliver architecture of the highest quality that is personal, functional and inspiring.</p><p>Denizen Works has won and been shortlisted for a plethora of awards: House No. 7 won the Stephen Lawrence Prize in 2014, Grand Designs Home of the Year  as well as Argyll and Bute Sustainability Award, it also received a special mention at the RIAS Andrew Doolan Award. </p><p>Denizen have also won many other awards including the RIBA National Awards, RIAS Awards, Scottish Design Awards and been shortlisted for the EU Mies Awards and AJ Small Projects Award among others. </p><p>Denizen Works is an RIBA Chartered Practice with offices in London and Glasgow and undertake projects in the UK and abroad. To get to the lecture theatre, enter the Sir Ian Wood Building and walk straight ahead until reaching a large atrium and staircase. Go downstairs and the lecture theatre is straight ahead at the base of the large drum. (This is marked as a blue dot in the Sir Ian Wood Building on the campus map below.) Lift access is available near the main reception and the atrium. If you are unsure, please contact us in advance or check with reception who will direct you.
