You are warmly invited to the second South London Mental Health Patient Safety Network event - 7th March, 15:00 -17:00

Join us for this interactive network event designed to bring together individuals across the system with the shared goal of improving mental health safety, brought to you by the Health Innovation Network (HIN) in partnership with experts by experience, Oxleas, South West London &amp; St George’s and South London and Maudsley NHS Trusts. Following our successful network launch in October 2021 - staff, people with lived experience, voluntary sector partners and colleagues across the system will come together to share insights, learning and practical examples of improving safety in mental health, with a particular focus on addressing racial inequalities. What to expect:<ul><li>Co-chairs Dr Muj Husain, Clinical Director for Mental Health, HIN, and Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and Christine Kapopo, Associate Director of Nursing at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, will welcome us and guide us through the session</li></ul><ul><li>Experiential lens: You will hear from patients, carers, Met Police and staff on their experience of mental health safety and racial inequalities </li></ul><ul><li>Innovations in practice: You will have chance to hear directly from colleagues about leading examples of work locally, including Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Programme (EMHIP) and Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF).</li></ul><ul><li>Stimulating conversation: We want to hear your insights, experiences and challenges in mental health safety and create space for you to connect with colleagues across the system</li></ul>Watch this space as our expert speakers are announced. What do I gain by joining?You will take away a range of practical examples, ideas and techniques in improving safety in mental health, ready to share with colleagues and test locally. By joining our Patient Safety Network you will also be able to create meaningful connections with individuals across the system whom share our collective goal of improving safety. Who should join? This event welcomes people who share our goal of improving mental health safety. Registration is open to people with lived experience of mental health services, including carers, clinical and managerial staff from NHS, independent and private health and social care providers, commissioning leads, local authorities, voluntary sector partners, police, emergency services and other system partners. All registered participants will receive the invitation link one week prior to the event starting and again, 24 hours before the event commences.
