Introduction to Linoprint

East Grinstead Museum is a local history museum in the heart of this historic town. It tells the story both of the development of the town, from the Middle Ages to the modern day, and of the remarkable story of SIr Archibald McIndoe a pioneering plastic surgeon and the air men who's lives he saved during the Second World War.It hosts a variety of engaging events from local history talks to children's activities, exhibitions and many other things besides.

Designed for beginners but for all levels welcome to attend this FREE workshop. Join our local artist and discover how to create your own lino prints.You will be guided through the process of linoprint; drawing inspiration from the museum collection or the high street to produce a print to take home along with a new skill that you can apply and develop in your own time. Approximate Schedule for the day:10:00 Arrival and Teas/Coffee10:15 Practice cutting and printing on a small print10:45 Time to sketch from the museum collection or high street (you are welcome to bring your own images to work from if you prefer)11:15 Transfer image to lino and start cutting12 - 1pm Lunch break (please bring your lunch or purchase locally)1 - 3pm Cutting and printing
