Norfolk Record Office (NRO) collects and preserves unique archives relating to the history of Norfolk and makes them accessible to people all over the world.The events listed here are run from our base at The Archive Centre, Martineau Lane, Norwich.   Free parking is available at County Hall for Archive Centre users. <h3>IN-PERSON EVENT</h3><h2>Using the Baedeker Guide book to find historic towns and cities in England, the Luftwaffe bombed Norwich on 27/8 April 1942. For the 80th anniversary of the raids we bring together a number of local documents and speakers to look into what happened. During our 90 minute event Daryl Long will explore the tales of a local firewatcher in Norwich, Frank Meeres will explain how we can find out more about the Beadeker Raids through the archives, and we will explore the street where the bombs hit. There will also be a rare chance to see the enormous Norwich bomb map, measuring just over 180cm square, and Wally Emm&#x27;s cycling map from the Norfolk Heritage Centre.</h2><h2>Spaces are limited due to social distancing. </h2><h3>The in-person audience is a ticketed event, you must book a ticket in order to attend this talk.  </h3><h3>All in-person events have been subject to a risk assessment and staff will be following COVID safe procedures. If you are visiting the Norfolk Record Office during this period we ask that you please take note of the following:</h3><ul><li>Wear a facemask when inside the building</li><li>Follow social distancing guidelines</li><li>Follow the one-way system when entering and exiting the Green Room</li><li>Use hand sanitizer on entering the building/room</li><li>The maximum capacity of events is limited, to ensure a space please book using the links below. If you are no longer able to attend an event please let us know.</li><li>Do not attend an event if you have any of the 3 COVID-19 symptoms</li><li>We advise you take a Lateral Flow Device test a maximum of 3 days before attending an event</li></ul><h3>In-person events will only run depending on the current government guidelines at the time.
