peacock:a workshop for art, is a printmaking workshop in the north east of Scotland established in 1974. We offer a wide range of artistic techniques, such as relief printing, intaglio, screenprint, lithography, and risograph. We are a charity supported by Aberdeen City Council & Creative Scotland. We showcase artworks from all over the world, focussing on printing and publishing. Our exhibitions show work by contemporary artists, fine art prints from our archives and objects related to Aberdeen’s rich print history. Entry is always free.On ourprint shop, we have a wide range of contemporary art prints for sale by local, regional and international artists, many of which have been published and editioned at the Peacock Visual Arts.

The Worm

Desorientación is the last in the series of prints realised by Peacock alongside the current exhibition Dark nights, bright stars. Taken from a 1990 drawing by Miguel Benlloch titled La rosa de los vientos sin norte (&#x27;the compass rose without the North&#x27;), the print plays with a never-ending word that leads back where it started. Language, as a way to navigate the world, offers few certainties – like a rose of the winds without the North.As part of the event, one of our new members of staff, Assistant Curator Enxhi Mandija, will host a brief talk informed by the print, reflecting on languages meeting, (dis)orientation, and unruly translation.
