Together is an alliance of Scottish children's charities that works to improve the awareness, understanding and implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).We do this by:promoting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child;helping children's organisations to integrate the UNCRC into their work;monitoring and reporting on the progress made at a Scottish and UK level.Our growing membership is made up of a range of children's charities, from small local playgroups through to large international charities, alongside individuals, academics and professionals with an interest in children's rights

Together’s State of Children’s Rights Report 2022Our 2022 report seeks to inspire and enable everyone in Scotland to put children’s human rights at the heart of everything they do. We have worked with over 50 of our members to identify challenges, opportunities and case studies of promising practice.Specifically, the report aims to support public authorities, the third sector, organisations and individuals as we approach implementation of the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill. It explores a range of actions that must be taken to ensure all children in Scotland can access all of their rights, all of the time. These actions include: <ul><li>Children&#x27;s participation in decision making;</li><li>Inclusive communications;</li><li>Raising awareness and understanding;</li><li>Data collection and monitoring;</li><li>Child-friendly complaints processes;</li><li>Child rights budgeting;</li><li>Children&#x27;s rights impact assessments;</li></ul>We hope our report can serve as a roadmap for all levels of government, the Scottish Parliament and practitioners as we strive towards creating a ‘gold standard’ for children’s rights in Scotland.Children&#x27;s Report The event will also celebrate the launch of a child-friendly version. The aim of this is to help children understand what the adults around them should be doing and empower them to call for change.Event formatThe fun-filled evening will include games, activities and speeches. Confirmed speakers include: <ul><li>Children from<a href="https://www.togetherscotland.org.uk/about-us/our-partnerships/rights-right-now/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Rights Right Now!</a> who would like to share their experience from being part of one of the report&#x27;s case studies; </li><li>Professor Ann Skelton, member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child;</li><li>Juliet Harris, Director of Together (Scottish Alliance for Children&#x27;s Rights)</li></ul>Rights Right Now! is a pilot project established to ensure that children are at the heart of discussions around UNCRC Implementation through influencing the UNCRC Strategic Implementation Board’s collective leadership and decision-making. The project was established in September 2021 and is coordinated by Together in partnership with Aberlour, Carers Trust Scotland, Children in Scotland, Scottish Commission for Learning Disability, Scottish Youth Parliament, Who Cares?
