We understand that parent carers often live unpredictable lives.  We welcome you to attend even if you can only come along for part of the event.

Thank you for choosing to attend this Coventry Parent Carer Forum Information Event at 11am on Thursday 24 March 2022Parent carer forums are independent groups run by parent carers. They work with the local authority and health as equal partners to help improve services for children and young people with additional needs and their families.A lively forum empowers you to improve the services your family needs, introduces you to new friends and provides training to boost your skills and knowledge.Every local authority area in England needs a parent carer forum. But at the moment there is no forum for Coventry. That means less say for parent carers in your area. National charity Contact wants to change that. We are offering support, training and access to £17.5k grant funding to establish a new forum for Coventry.Meeting host is Wendy Davey, Contact Associate.For more information or to access additional support to join this session, email wendy.contactpcf@gmail.com …………………………………………………………………………………………….........................................Parent carer forums welcome all parent carers of children and young people with disabilities, special educational needs, health needs and other additional needs aged 0-25 years, whether diagnosed or not. A parent carer is anyone who parents and/or cares for a child or young person with additional needs. Many parent carers support their local forum simply by following its Facebook page. Some parent carers go on to get more involved in the work of the forum, giving as much or as little of their time as they wish.(A follow-up event also runs at 7pm on Thursday 31 March 2022.
