Verity-Jane Keefe is a visual artist working predominantly in the public realm to explore the complex relationship between people and place. She is interested in the role and potential of the artist within urban regeneration. Working with moving image, text and installation to explore possible taxonomies of everyday life. A Field Trip to look at similarities &amp; differences of place. Ford, Docks, Culture, Regeneration, Labour +++ Leaving from London Euston

Field Trip #2 Liverpool by train2nd April 2022 Leaving from London Euston at approx. 9am (tickets will be booked in advance and detailed information will be shared in advance )We will travel to Liverpool from Becontree via London Euston, to explore how similar places can be, even when far apart. Liverpool is connected to Dagenham owing to historically strong Labour and Union links, Ford and the Docks. Workers would move between Ford in Dagenham and Liverpool. We will look at the impact culture led regeneration has had on the former docklands area, as Barking and Dagenham is going through a time of rapid physical and cultural change. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.Free but booking is essential.---“Field Trip (noun)A field trip or excursion is a journey by a group of people to a place away from their usual environment.”A series of Field Trips in response to the themes of Living Together, Becontree and its centenary. Both Field Trips are free to attend, but places are limited. Booking is essential via Eventbrite. It will look at the past 100 years of social housing through the lens of Becontree, once the largest social housing estate in the world; looking at the past, the present and into the future. Delivered in partnership with London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
