Research talk from Jennifer Rudd, Swansea - From Climate Change Ignorant to Climate Change Educator

Abstract: What happens when you teach someone about climate change? In this talk Dr Jennifer Rudd will share her story of completing a masters and PhD in chemistry without knowing anything about climate change, how she learnt about it and how it changed her life. If you&#x27;re interested in teaching people about climate change, communicating climate change and effecting behavioural change then this talk is for you.Bio: Jennifer has a Masters and PhD in chemistry, she then worked on converting water to hydrogen and carbon dioxide into fuels before learning about the climate crisis. Unconvinced that the solution to climate change lay in a chemistry lab Jennifer changed disciplines and her career to try to answer the question &quot;Can we teach climate change in a way that effects behavioural change&quot;. She is a precarious, part-time Senior Lecturer on a fixed term contract at Swansea University in the School of Management.
