Stone Carving Workshop with Patrick Walls

The Friends of Milton Creek Country Park are a community based group who help to preserve, maintain and promote the Country Park. Together with the Park Ranger the Friends organise various family activities throughout the year. All the money raised at events goes back into funding other events or to improve the facilities in the Park. Volunteers meet every Tuesday to carry out a wide variety of tasks across the Park. If you would like to be actively involved then just turn up at 9am on a Tuesday and the Ranger will make you very welcome. Tools and gloves are provided.

Milton Creek Country Park

Artist Patrick Walls is making a sculpture for Milton Creek Country Park this summer for <a href="https://www.creativeestuary.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Creative Estuary</a> and <a href="https://ideastest.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ideas Test</a>'s co-commission.Patrick would like to meet you if you’re someone who uses and loves the park. In Pat’s sessions you’ll design and carve your own limestone block. You can also chat to him about the project and what you love about Milton Creek including the nature and wildlife and the local history of the area.The blocks you make will be shown at a local Ideas Test exhibition (dates TBC) You could also be part of the stone bench that Pat is making to be a permanent landmark at the park. Families are welcome although carving can only be done by children over 10 with adult supervision. All materials and safety equipment will be provided. Meet by the store with the colourful mural.This workshop is part of Creative Estuary and Ideas Test’s co-commission to create a piece of public art at Milton Creek Country Park .
