County Lines just one facet of criminal exploitation, this session explores other the many other methods of criminal exploitation that occur

County Lines has dominated the media, public fears and funding streams for the youth work sector for many years now. County Lines, although a significant concern, is not the only form of criminal exploitation that our young people are faced with. It has arguably overshadowed, in the media and our practice, other forms that have also prevailed in recent years. Using Birmingham, West Midlands, as a case study to explore this topic further, this introductory session on Criminal Exploitation delves deeper into the various means in which young people may be exploited for criminal gain by perpetrators.Considering organised shoplifting, car key burglary, money laundering and concealing criminal property, this session sets out as a refresher and a learning piece for both professionals and the public on the harm of criminal exploitation on our children, young people and communities. This is the first webinar in a series of accessible 'awareness raising' sessions. The content of these webinars are not the same content as the offers on the Safer:Now website, as they include practice development tools and strategy.Safer:Now's Director Sean Monaghan, has been heavily involved in supporting those exposed to serious youth violence, exploitation and extremism for a number of years, notably, setting up and delivering 3 hospital-based violence interruption services in Birmingham.
