We’re a home for Chelmsford’s Creative Community—to connect, collaborate, seek support and inspiration. Since 2017 Ignite Chelmsford has been connecting people from all backgrounds, perspectives, sectors, and organisations to give our city a shared voice and a strong creative community. We believe creativity thrives in a warm, open, and encouraging environment where everybody is welcome. We are passionate about helping Chelmsford realise its ambition as a city of creativity and innovation. If you work, volunteer, or study in the creative and cultural industries – or are simply interested in supporting creativity and culture in Chelmsford we would love you to join.

Following on from Make Music Day (21st June) this Ignite celebrate the power of music and projects that are widening access to it.

Every second Thursday, we host a social meet-up with creative inspiration and an opportunity to connect and learn how we can support one another's work.This month we hear from two speakers involved in bringing music to unexpected places and new audiences. Hannah Barry, <a href="https://boldtendencies.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bold Tendencies</a>Bold Tendencies is a not-for-profit organisation started in 2007 in Peckham, London. They support artists to develop their ideas and to realise site-specific projects presenting live performances from its rooftop home, Peckham’s Multi-Storey Car Park. They produce an award-winning live programme of music, dance and opera Bold TendenciesOrlando Joplin, <a href="https://romanrivermusic.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Roman River Festival</a>The Roman River Festival is a vibrant, diverse &amp; community-led performing arts festival over 3 long weekends, featuring international quality performers in informal, public &amp; unexpected locations including disused spaces, in Colchester, rural Essex &amp; Suffolk.The festival is aimed at everyone in the community and specifically engages the very young, those in care homes, refugees &amp; hard-to-reach communities.
