Next meeting for the New Town and Broughton Community Council will be Monday 14th March 2022 at 7:00pm (via Zoom)

NTBCC&#x27;s next meeting will again be held via the Zoom platform on 14th March (although we are continuing to explore options either for hybrid meetings or in-person meetings in the future). The full agenda for this meeting will be published soon on our website, <a href="https://www.ntbcc.org.uk/meetings/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.ntbcc.org.uk/meetings/</a>We look forward to as many residents as possible joining us for this.What&#x27;s going to be discussed ?After a few necessary formalities, including a discussion on more relevant information in the Police Scotland Newsletter, we will then hear from the parties charged with the redesign of George Street (the &#x27;George Street &amp; First New Town&#x27; project) - this has been a long running engagement with key stakeholders including NTBCC but it seems the finer details are now reaching a conclusion.We&#x27;ll then hear from NTBCC&#x27;s Communications &amp; Engagement committee on publicising NTBCC&#x27;s meetings for the remainder of 2022 as well as options for future meeting formats as well as the next proposed NTBCC &#x27;Walkabout&#x27; covering the eastern section of our area (East Claremont St / Beaverhall / Dunedin St / Broughton Rd).The Planning discussion centres on the current proposals &amp; consultation for student housing on the former Jewsons site in Eyre Place as well as the ongoing appeal for redevelopment proposals at 108 - 114 &amp; 116 Dundas Street. Under Transport, there are several important topics - ranging from a recent positive engagement by the Travelling Safely team covering the proposed Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) for Broughton St &amp; the Canonmills corridor and including NTBCC&#x27;s response to the final consultation on the Low Emission Zone (Formal Objection as posted on the NTBCC website) as well as the latest information on the Trams to Newhaven project and EV charging points roll-out. Licensing will cover any recent applications that may be of interest to local residents.Finally - if that&#x27;s not enough (&amp; if time allows), we&#x27;ll discuss future plans for either in person or hybrid community council meetings and lastly, but by no means least, the emerging plans for a Husting event, organised by the Broughton Spurtle, for the Council&#x27;s May 2022 election to be held in late April.This isn&#x27;t all that&#x27;s on the agenda but it should be more than enough to whet your appetite and fill the 2 hours available comfortably but if there are other issues that local residents are interested in - then always happy to hear these, please contact us via <a href="https://www.ntbcc.org.uk/contact/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.ntbcc.org.uk/contact/</a>We&#x27;ll then try to make time available under any other business to respond to any other issues or concerns raised.
