Resonate 2022 Festival

Over 70 individual events, drop-in activities, games and experiences - something for all the family to enjoy during the April school break.

Resonate 2022 is a three-day extravaganza on the University of Warwick campus between 19-21 April.

An exploration of historical beliefs about the supernatural that retells stories of otherworldly encounters through the captivating medium of shadow puppetry. 


Four stories from England, Wales and Scotland, dating from the late 17th to the early 19th centuries that uncover accounts of demonic assaults, intimate relationships between humans and fairies and encounters with a shapeshifting witch, a blacksmith harbouring a dark secret, and a ghostly warrior bound to his troublesome kinfolk…

A fascinating talk and performance that explores human nature in past and present:

How might our ancestors be affected by the invisible world of spirits? 

How did stories of the supernatural reflect on the powers and vulnerabilities of a human body? 

And how much has changed today? 

Each story will be followed by expert historical commentary with time at the end for thoughts and questions.
