The University of Liverpool’s Institute of Irish Studies and the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies at the University of Notre Dame&#x27;s Keough School of Global Affairs in association with Unreal Cities is pleased to present Beckett: Confined, a three-day festival of Samuel Beckett’s plays, associated musical performances and lectures.The festival&#x27;s keynote by James Little introduced by Professor Frank Shovlin, and a roundtable discussion on “Samuel Beckett’s Politics of Confinement” with William Davies, Emilie Morin and Hannah Simpson.Samuel Beckett (1906-1989) was one of the 20th century’s most celebrated playwrights and authors, winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1969.
