Please join us for the first seminar of the Maudsley Philosophy Group&#x27;s spring seminar series in which we welcome Dr Sanneke de Haan, Socrates Professor of Psychiatry &amp; Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam and senior researcher at Tilburg University, who will be speaking on the topic of self-illness &amp; self-medication ambiguity in patients with depressionAbstract:In this talk I will address self-illness and self-medication ambiguity in the context of people who suffer from recurring depressions. Self-illness and self-medication ambiguity refer to the difficulty of discerning how a psychiatric disorder and psychotropic medication influence one&#x27;s experiences. I will discuss some conceptual issues as well as some preliminary results from my qualitative study.
