Join us for a ninety-minute online event for Conscious Cafe presented by Nick WilliamsWriting your first book, or your next book, may be your dream, or maybe you simply have some ideas and messages you would like to share more widely. In this workshop Nick will share some of his own experience of fulfilling his dream and writing his first book The Work We Were Born To Do. It was published in 1999 and went on to become a best-seller and opened up many opportunities for him. He was invited to speak around the world and has since written another eighteen books, as well as publishing hundreds of videos, blog posts and podcasts He will present the workshop as three modules, and specifically share:Module 1 – Navigating the intersection of inspiration and resistance At least some of what you want to write is born of inspiration, as well your lived experience. But inspiration and resistance seem to come as a package, like thunder and lightning. When the lightening of inspiration strikes, the thunder of fear, resistance and inertia are unlikely to be far away. So Nick will share a few thoughts on navigating the following:<ul><li>Thinking of yourself as a messenger and a guide, as well as a writer </li><li>How you access inspiration and recognise and overcome your resistance </li><li>The importance of developing your consistent writing practice </li><li>The distinction between the private and public aspects of being creative </li></ul>Module 2 – Clarifying the messages you specifically have to share and who they are for <ul><li>Learning to edit and distil and find the golden nuggets in what you have to say </li><li>Getting to the essence of your messages and ideas </li><li>How you go through the defining and distilling process </li></ul>Module 3 – Structuring your messages and ideas into your book <ul><li>Expanding the golden nuggets into your book. </li><li>Putting structure to your ideas and messages and suggestions of where to start with structure </li><li>Writing your cover blurb and a complete chapter </li></ul>You should leave this workshop with a blend of personal inspiration and motivation as well as some very practical strategies to take your ideas, messages and writing forward. <h2>Why Nick Williams?</h2>As a child, Nick dreamed of becoming an author, but didn’t do much about it until his mid-thirties. But once he started to write, there has been no stopping him! Professionally, he now works as a guide to people in leadership for their leadership is a calling, not just a job title.
