The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC) is home to the world's largest collection of working historic computers.Follow the development of computing: from the Turing-Welchman Bombe and Colossus of the 1940s through the large systems and mainframes of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, to the rise of personal computing and the rise of mobile computing and the internet.Recognised as one of England’s top 100 ‘irreplaceable places’, we welcome corporate and group visits, schools and individuals from all over the world.We are normally open Tuesday to Friday 10:30 -17:00, Saturday & Sunday 10:30 – 17:00. Minecraft is a fantastic educational resource that uses gamification to develop real world understanding of physics and spatial reasoning among others. Enter our virtual world and help build TNMOC. This self-directed and explorative session promotes creativity in game-based environments. Tasks include building a representation of our historic site and creating working versions of our unique collection of historic machines.Codename Cipher [TNMOC]Here at The National Museum of Computing, we have been exploring how digital tools can be used to augment real-life and generate learning opportunities in this hands-on museum exploration. The year is 1940 and you have been invited to Bletchley Park to assist in the war effort.
