Understanding Child Sexual Abuse

Liverpool Parenting Network is facilitated by Liverpool City Council and includes both statutory and VCS organisations in the Liverpool city area.  The aim is to provide quality support for parents enabling access to educational services to compliment a parents skills.

This workshop will include warning signs in children and young people, warning signs of abusive behaviour &amp; developing a family safety plan.

Understanding Child Sexual AbuseChild sexual abuse is highly prevalent but still remains a taboo subject despite an increase in media coverage over recent years. This is not a new phenomenon. CSA has been around since the dawn of time but there are now more ways to carry out abuse. Although there are statistics for the number of reported incidents, we know that this is not a true reflection of the issue because many victims/survivors do not disclose.Workshop Objectives•	To understand the definition of child sexual abuse•	To recognise warning signs in children and young people•	To recognise warning sings in abusers and children/young people displaying signs of sexually harmful behaviour•	To understand the impact of CSA•	To learn about CSA and the law•	To learn about support availableYou must be a Liverpool resident to access this event.
