Do you work or volunteer with a community group or service that supports older people, or people who have served in HM Armed Forces? Our free workshop can boost your ability to include and support older ex-service men and women.There are around a 220,000 ex-service men and women in Scotland, the majority of whom are over age 65. Our interactive workshop looks at how to identify older members of the ex-service community, offers an insight into military culture and issues for older ex-service personnel, and introduces you to a wealth of extra support potentially available to them in later life. The workshop is free, and can accommodate up to 12 participants. This is an open session in which you will meet – virtually – with staff and volunteers from other organisations. If you would like paid staff and volunteers in your organisations to receive this workshop as a group please email your request to veteransproject@agescotland.org.uk.The session will take place in the Age Scotland training suite in Edinburgh, however should the Covid situation worsen it may move to the Zoom online platform.Please contact Sarah and Doug at veteransproject@agescotland.org.uk if you have any queries.
