2PM - Masterclass B: "Teasing out a Theme" - with Moyra Donaldson
This workshop will consider the notion of theme – different approaches, novel ways in, fresh slants, surprising angles and unexpected turns.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to circumstances beyond our control, Stephanie Conn is unable to take this workshop
This workshop will consider the notion of theme – different approaches we, as poets, might take; novel ways in, fresh slants, surprising angles, unexpected turns.
We will look at poems that move tangentially around our theme of 'endure' and also have the opportunity to generate our own ideas. - Moyra Donaldson
Please note: Moyra Donaldson's Masterclass is at 2pm ONLY, there is no morning masterclass. Tickets bought for Stephanie Conn's morning workshop are valid for this workshop.
Moyra Donaldson has published nine collections of poetry, most recently Bone House from Doire Press. In 2019 she received a Major Artist Award from ACNI. She is a creative writing facilitator with more than 20 years’ experience and her workshops are designed to be both supportive and encouraging. She is a professional mentor for the Irish Writers Centre and Words Ireland and also mentors poets who are working towards a first collection. Moyra has been a judge for a number of poetry awards, including the Seamus Heaney Award for New Writing and the Mairtin Crawford Award. A new collection is forthcoming from Doire Press in 2026.
