What You’ll Learn:<ul><li>Introduction to Pattern Making</li><li>What is a pattern?</li><li>Essential tools of the trade.</li><li>Understanding pattern anatomy.</li></ul> Block-Making Basics<ul><li>What is a block, and why is it important?</li><li>How to accurately measure the body.</li><li>Drafting a simple bodice with sleeves (size 12).</li><li>Drafting a standard skirt block (size 12).</li><li>Creating a made-to-measure skirt and simple bodice block using your own measurements.</li></ul> From Block to Pattern<ul><li>Transforming a block into a pattern.</li><li>Tracing patterns and refining with seam allowances and notches.</li><li>Adding annotations for professional working patterns.</li></ul> Practical Examples and Techniques<ul><li>Explore real-world examples of working patterns to understand industry standards.</li><li>If time permits: Create a toile of your finished blocks to test the fit and functionality. Please bring appropriate woven fabric for your toile.</li></ul> Key Details:<ul><li>Duration: 3 days</li><li>Hours: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM</li><li>Location: FC Designer Workspace, 9 Durham Road, London N7 7FB</li><li>Skill Level: Beginner-friendly. No prior experience is required.</li></ul> Cancellation Policy:Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the start of the workshop to receive a refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made within 48 hours will not be eligible for a refund.This hands-on course is the perfect starting point for those who aspire to craft their own garments or pursue a career in fashion design.
