This workshop is for those who have a basic understanding of watercolour techniques or thoes who are following on from Rachels previous 3 week beginner course. You will build on foundational skills and introduce more complex methods, encouraging you to develop your personal style and creative confidence.
This wokrshop runs across three sessions on the 7th, 14th and 21st November.
Week 1 – Lifting and Scraping Techniques
Learn to lift, scrape, and wash out colour to create dynamic textures and highlights. We’ll paint a stormy seascape using these techniques.
Week 2 – Composing a Simple Landscape
Apply everything you’ve learned so far to create a cohesive, atmospheric landscape. We'll focus on composition, layering, and storytelling through watercolour.
Week 3 – Free Play from Nature Photography
Bring in a nature photograph you’ve taken and use it as the starting point for a final piece. This session is all about creative expression, experimentation, and letting the watercolour lead the way.
