3 Week Support Block - Autism and Girls
Overview
For parents/carers living in Bristol, North Somerset, South Glos and BaNES
A 3-week course and discussion group designed to help you understand and support the autistic girl in your care. No diagnosis is required to join this group. For parents and carers of girls and those who identify as girls.
Each week will begin with a presentation from facilitators on key topics. The rest of the session is an opportunity to get to know each other, ask questions and share experiences. The group will give you in depth information about the specific issues faced by autistic girls and how you can support your daughter in living a happy, confident life, including:
- Coming to terms with puberty
- Managing relationships
- Staying safe
- Help with masking
- Emotional regulation
- Hygiene and appearance
- Managing conflicts
After each session, attendees will get an email with links and resources to do with that week's topics.

The group will meet via Zoom on Thursdays starting 8th January from 9.30-11.30 with an hour lunch break and resuming 12.30pm-2.30pm

Facilitator
The course will be run by Amy Phipps, an autism and neurodiversity trainer and consultant. Amy has worked with autistic adults and children for over 25 years and has two autistic children herself.
