Mentoring Gen Z with Stephen Maher 🤩

Stephen is the Chair and CEO of customer experience agency MBAstack , a new agency designed for today’s fast-paced, digitally transforming and increasingly e-commerce driven world. A world where clients are rightly demanding ever greater accountability from the power of creativity to accelerate their business and customer growth. A world where data, tech and creativity need to fused and treated equally; then delivered through an approach that is entrepreneurial, nimble and full of spark

MBAStack brings together the successful, established and awarded agency brands of MBA - one of The World’s Independent Agencies - and Stack - the digital micro network MSQ’s leading customer experience agency - to marshal this informed imagination into commercial leaps for clients

After graduating with an MA in Modern History from Balliol College Oxford in 1983, Stephen entered agency account management working at agencies including AMV/BBDO and TBWA/ Simons Palmer before founding MBA in 1994 and then merging the agency with MSQ’s Stack in 2021

Stephen regularly speaks on behalf of the UK marketing and digital communications industry including on trade missions to China, the US and South America as well as in the UK, such as at the British Olympic Business Summit at Lancaster House and for UKAEG at CogX Createch on UK China Collaboration.

What will be covered in the session? You will work closely with the mentor and 19 other mentees. The mentor will open the conversation by asking you to introduce yourself. The mentor will then introduce themselves and cover their career journey, challenges that they have faced and how they overcame these which will all be relatable to the topics provided on each mentees' registration form. You will discuss the topics as a group, what this means for you and how you can incorporate what you have learned to overcome your current obstacle. The mentoring session includes Q&A section where you can seek guidance in anything else you like. To close, our mentor will ask you for some advice. We often think of the mentor-mentee relationship as one-sided, but we believe it's a two-way street. Our mentors will seek some guidance from you and you will receive their questions 48-hours ahead of the session to give you some time to prepare.
