Henderson 75th Anniversary Happening

The Henderson Heritage Group (HHG) is an unincorporated, non-profit organisation consisting of people who lived at or worked at one of the Henderson Communities. We have come together to preserve the archive and memory of the Henderson Heritage Communities, and to think about ways in which aspects of the collective work of the three Communities can continue to shape future directions in health and social care and in the survivor movement.

The Henderson 75th Anniversary Happening is an event organised by The Henderson Heritage Group to celebrate the life of the three Henderson Heritage Communities - Henderson Hospital, Main House and Webb House - and the experiences of people who lived and worked there. It will be an opportunity to share experiences, reminisce, reflect and (re-)connect with generations of people whose lives have been touched by the Henderson Heritage Democratic Therapeutic Community experience. The event will be held at the site of the Mulberry Bush Third Space (‘MB3’) in the village of Toddington in Gloucestershire. This is the National Centre for Reflective Practice, where the main collection of artefacts from Henderson Hospital is now stored. https://mulberrybush.org.uk/mb3/The Happening will be a communal experience in the spirit of the Democratic Therapeutic Communities.
