The Essex PA Network is a voluntary not for profit organisation operated by Julia Robertson Avenell, Jennifer Smith and Sarah Martin.  We run networking and training events for EAs, PAs, Virtual Assistants and Office Administrators in Essex with the aim of bringing support staff together to connect, share and develop.

Having led teams for 10 years and subsequently spent 20 years helping teams to achieve high- performance teamwork around the world and spoken at over 500 conferences about teamwork, Nick Fewings realised, based on feedback from team members and delegates, that there weren’t any books that helped both individuals and teams to understand the importance of knowing both WHO was in their team, specifically, the behavioural and technical skills that individuals had, nor HOW effective their teamwork was, both vital, if high-performance teamwork is to be achieved.

The Focus. The 21 chapters of Team Lead Succeed are packed with practical learning, real-life stories to bring the learning to life, and suggestions for you to consider implementing in your team, all focused on raising awareness of the importance of knowing the WHO and the HOW of teamwork. In addition, there is a chapter about leadership.
The Format. Although Team Lead Succeed contains more than 260 pages it has been designed so readers can enjoy the learning and apply it in their teams, bit by bit. Based on feedback, there are also elements of humour within it, and whilst there is some theory included, the main aim is to provide learning and suggestions that can be applied practically in a team, helping it become even more effective.
Red Flags, Questions and Ping Moments. In the majority of chapters, there are observations about what happens when an element of teamwork is not working well, questions to consider in terms of How your team may be performing and space for the reader to jot down any ideas that spring to mind, whilst they are still fresh in their mind.
